Fields of work
Publishing
The Danish Bible Society publishes the Bible in various editions (authorized and non-authorized in Danish and Greenlandic) and formats (leather-bound, paperback, hardback, illustrated, etc.). We do this in order to promote usage of the Bible, and for the same reason, we constantly develop new products aimed at families with young children, students and others who may be interested. These products include everything from cartoons and to study materials and Bible curricula. Our ambition is to have all published material be of the highest quality in relation to content, graphics and layout.
Fundraising
Through different kinds of donations, we collect funds for the international Bible cause. We divide the funds between the various Bible projects around the world through the United Bible Societies of which The Danish Bible Society is a founding member.
Bookstore
In addition to the Bible in Danish and Greenlandic, our webshop contains loads of biblical material in foreign languages. Among other things, you can find a brief guide to the church of Denmark, the Quran in Arabic and Danish, different versions of the Bible in English, Greek and German, bible dictionaries, children’s Bibles, collections of hymns used in the churches of Denmark, and more. Our webshop also includes jewelry, cartoons, posters, CDs and DVDs, and toys.
Bible promotion
Part of our work is also to promote knowledge of the Bible as well as the practice of reading it. We do this through lectures, exhibitions and similar activities.
